New York Mets vs Washington Nationals Live Stream

Mets vs. Nationals: MLB Opening Day prediction, pick, odds, line, TV channel, watch online, live stream.

As part of a full Opening Day slate in which all 30 teams are in action, the retooled New York Mets behind the reigning National League Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom will get their 2019 season started against three-time Cy Young winner Max Scherzer and the Washington Nationals. Here’s how you can watch:

Mets: Agent-turned-GM Brodie Van Wagenen kicked off his first year in Queens with a flurry of moves, proving that the Mets won’t be taking a backseat in the National League East this season. The Mets showed that they’re aiming for the NL East crown in 2019, after a busy offseason which included the signings of Robinson Cano, Edwin Diaz, Jed Lowrie, Wilson Ramos, Justin Wilson and Jeurys Familia. The new-look Mets have a chance to win their first postseason game since 2015, especially if their rotation of Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, Zack Wheeler, Steven Matz and Jason Vargas stays healthy enough to serve as the backbone of the team.

Nationals: The Nats watched their franchise star Bryce Harper head to Philadelphia in free agency, but the Nats should be right back in the mix again in 2019 to make their sixth postseason appearance in nine years. Manager Dave Martinez will need to run a better bullpen than last year, and the additions of Trevor Rosenthal, Kyle Barraclough and Tony Sipp should give Martinez more options for the late-inning matchups. Plus, the Harper-less roster is just as talented as it ever was with young superstars like Juan Soto and Victor Robles and offseason acquisitions like Patrick Corbin, Anibal Sanchez and Brian Dozier. Just like their competitors in the NL East, this team is loaded with talent and ready to compete.

The Kentucky Wildcats should get P.J. Washington back just in time for a critical Sweet 16 matchup with an underrated Houston Cougars team.Though the Kentucky Wildcats advanced to the Sweet 16, they looked like a team that needed more help if they were going to keep advancing in March Madness. Lucky for John Calipari and Co., they’ll get just that. On Friday as they take on a hot Houston Cougars team to finish off the regional semifinal games in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, P.J. Washington will return to the Big Blue lineup.

Washington missed both of Kentucky’s game to start the tournament with a foot injury. In fact, after last weekend, there were questions if he’d be ready for the Sweet 16. With the cast removed and him moving seemingly well, though, he’s on-track to play. That’s huge for the Wildcats as, though Tyler Herro and Keldon Johnson have been awesome, Washington is their guy that makes everything tick.00:0400:26Read Article

That’s critical for this matchup, because Kelvin Sampson’s Houston team is coming to play and knock off a blue blood. Led by guards Corey Davis Jr. and Armoni Brooks, the Cougars are a Final Four contender in any capacity. They have the talent, experience and gameplan to knock off any team in the tournament.

Houston’s guards are some of the best in all of college basketball, but Kentucky proved against Wofford that they can lock down defensively. What’s more, Washington’s return could give them an X-factor. Of course, we have to see that actually happen, and you can keep up with the action and score below.

Details for Friday’s Sweet 16 matchup are below:

Date: Friday, March 28
Start Time: 9:59 p.m. ET (Approximate, Game tips off 30 minutes after end of first Midwest Region matchup)
Location: Kansas City, MO
Venue: Sprint Center
TV Info: TBS
Live Stream: Full Free Here

Houston is truly one of the dark horses of this NCAA Tournament, but Washington returning for Kentucky is a massive boost for this Wildcats team. Thus, it’s hard to say which way the ball will bounce for this Sweet 16 clash, but it could be one of the best shows of the tournament thus far on the way to finding out the answer to that.

Virginia Tech vs Duke Live

No. 1 seed Duke barely escaped against No. 9 seed UCF to advance to the Sweet 16, winning 77-76. Duke’s four freshman starters scored 72 of the team’s 77 points, with Zion Williamson leading the way with 32 points. One spot where the Blue Devils have struggled through this tournament is at the free throw line. Of the 68 teams in the field, Duke ranks 59th in free throw percentage, hitting only 62 percent of the shots from that area.

No. 4 seed Virginia Tech won its lone matchup against Duke this season, winning 77-72 on Feb. 26. But the Blue Devils were without Zion Williamson in that game. Virginia Tech has been playing very sound basketball in the tournament. It has only turned the ball over nine times per game, while forcing opponents to turn the ball over 15 times per game. The Hokies have not made it to the Elite Eight since 1967.

No. 1 seed North Carolina will face No. 5 Auburn in the Midwest Regional semifinal on Friday. Luke Maye is one of three players left in the tournament who is averaging a double-double. Maye is averaging 18 points and 11.5 rebounds during the Tar Heels tournament run. UNC won its first round matchup over No. 16 seed Iona 88-73. In the second round, the Tar Heels defeated No. 9 seed Washington 81-59. UNC has grabbed 35 offensive rebounds in its two games, the most in the tournament.

No. 5 seed Auburn has shot its way to the Sweet 16. The Tigers have taken the most 3-pointers in the tournament, and are tied for first in 3-pointers made. It defeated No. 4 seed Kansas 89-75 in the second round, with the bulk of its scoring coming from two players. Jared Harper and Bryce Brown combined for 43 points in the win. No. 2 seed Michigan State advanced to the Sweet 16 without a lot of worries. The Spartans defeated No. 15 seed Bradley 76-65 in the first round and then beat No. 10 seed Minnesota 70-50. The Spartans held Minnesota to two of 22 from 3-point range in the win and dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Golden Gophers 45-19. Cassius Winston is the playmaker that makes the Spartans offense run. He led the team in scoring and assists in the regular season, and now in the NCAA Tournament leads the team in both, averaging 19.5 points per game. He has more assists in the tournament than the rest of the team combined. He has 13 of the team’s 25 assists.

No. 3 seed LSU is looking to make its second Elite Eight in the last 30 years. The Tigers have played two tight games thus far in the tournament. It defeated No. 14 seed Yale 79-74 in the first round behind Skylar Mays’ 19 points. In the second round, Tremont Waters hit a game-winning layup with 1.6 seconds left over No. 6 seed Maryland. LSU has struggled to shoot from deep in its two games, hitting 27 percent of its 3-pointers.

It’s finally here. The madness began on Thursday, and the first round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament is off and running again on Friday. We have not seen a No. 1 seed fall to a No. 16 seed like last season — at least not yet — but between Ja Morant taking the day by storm with the first triple-double in The Big Dance since 2012 and a wild Auburn-New Mexico State ending that left Bruce Pearl nearly speechless, there was no shortage of excitement to get your Thursday thirst for college basketball quenched.

Now we’re onto day two. Three No. 1 seeds will play their first game on Friday — including No. 1 overall seed Duke. Plus, No. 2 seed Tennessee takes on No. 15 seed Colgate and No. 6 seed Buffalo battles wth No. 11 seed Arizona State. The action tips at 12:15 p.m. ET with No. 7 seed Cincinnati and No. 10 seed Iowa.

Before we all dive head first, let’s first take a look at how you can watch the games. Below is all the information you need to catch the Friday first round March Madness action from start to finish, including how you can stream each game while on the go.

As part of a full Opening Day slate in which all 30 teams are in action, the quasi-rebuilding San Francisco Giants will get their 2019 season started against the up-and-coming San Diego Padres. Here’s how you can watch:

Live Stats: GameTracker

Picks: Check SportsLine’s MLB pick sheet for all your daily odds.

Odds: Padres -110 / Giants +100

Storylines

Giants: The Giants are in a difficult spot. They’ve lost 187 games the last two seasons and they have a lot of money tied up in injured or declining players. Their offseason was relatively quiet aside from some low cost pitching additions, so another losing season appears to be in the cards. On the bright side, the Giants did hire the Farhan Zaidi away from the rival Dodgers to run their baseball operations department. They have a bright new front office and get some fresh perspective, which is much-needed at this point. The glory days of 2010-14 are over and the Giants begin a new era in 2019.

Padres: Few teams in baseball have a long-term outlook as bright as the Padres. They have the best and deepest farm system in baseball, with several top prospects (Fernando Tatis Jr., Chris Paddack, etc.) set to arrive this season. The Padres also splurged on 26-year-old Manny Machado, giving them an established elite player to build around. It’s unlikely San Diego will contend in 2019. In 2020 though, watch out. The Padres are not far away from becoming one of the game’s most talented teams.

Prediction

Padres all the way. Tatis picks up two hits in MLB debut, personal favorite Franmil Reyes hits two homers, and Machado makes no fewer than three web gems at third.

Pick: Padres -110

Although the Seattle Mariners technically began the 2019 MLB regular season with a recent pair of games in Tokyo, the rest of the league will enjoy Opening Day on Thursday, March 28.

That includes the Mariners’ next opponent — the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox.

Here’s everything you need to know about the American League foes’ showdown Thursday:

TV: ESPN (Full Free Here)

Live Stats: GameTracker

Picks: Check SportsLine’s MLB pick sheet for all your daily odds

Odds: Red Sox -195 / Mariners +165

Storylines

Red Sox: Boston’s title defense begins Thursday, and the only significant piece missing from their Opening Day lineup will be World Series MVP Steve Pearce, who’s injured. Closer Craig Kimbrel was a big offseason loss out of the bullpen (even though he remains unsigned), but otherwise, there’s little reason to believe the Sox won’t be among MLB’s top title contenders again. Their relievers aren’t as lethal as those of the rival New York Yankees, but their star power — from Mookie Betts to J.D. Martinez to Opening Day ace Chris Sale — is enough to scare the rest of the league.

Mariners: After falling out of a once-promising playoff race in 2018, Seattle completely remade itself over the winter, parting ways with just about every recognizable talent in the name of prospect acquisition. Pay little mind to their 2-0 record after the Japan series. They may have some fight in them, especially if Tim Beckham keeps it up and their veteran plug-ins can get hot, but overall, they can’t be expected to sniff the postseason this time around.

Prediction

Marco Gonzales looked promising in Seattle’s actual opener, and he’s still fresh from that outing. But this is the Red Sox we’re talking about. Sale’s numbers vs. the Mariners lean heavily in his favor, and with Boston’s lineup, this is a pretty easy decision.

Pick: Red Sox -195

Diamondbacks vs Dodgers Live Stream MLB Baseball

Watch Diamondbacks vs Dodgers Live Stream MLB Baseball online from anywhere on any device. Arizona Diamondbacks vs Los Angeles Dodgers Live MLB Games prediction, pick, odds, line, TV channel, watch online, live stream.

The Dodgers have won the National League for the past two seasons, and they’re the team to beat in the NL West, but there are teams making headway. The Padressigning Manny Machado was a big step towards challenging Los Angeles, who were mostly dormant this offseason. That’s not to say the Dodger roster isn’t tremendously talented.

On the other end of things, the Diamondbacks are trotting out a very different team from last year. Paul Goldschmidt and Patrick Corbin are gone, and they’re hoping for jumps out of their young players in Arizona.

Here’s how to watch the Dodgers host the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

MLB Opening Day viewing information

Date: Thursday, March 29

Time: 10:10 p.m. ET

Location: Dodger Stadium — Los Angeles, California

TV: Fox Sports Arizona, SportsNet LA, ESPN

Live stream: (Try for free) for fans in Arizona and L.A.

Live Stats: GameTracker

Picks: Check SportsLine’s MLB pick sheet for all your daily odds.

Odds: Dodgers -160 / Diamondbacks +144

Storylines

Dodgers: The Dodgers are trying to get back to the World Series for the third year in a row, and in an offseason that you’d think would be boom or bust for a team that’s made the playoffs six years in a row, they stayed relatively quiet. They’re still among the favorites in the NL, but the rest of the league is closing in fast. This could end up being a make or break year for this Dodgers team as we know it. Thursday also marks the first time in eight years that Clayton Kershaw won’t be the Opening Day starter for the Dodgers, as he begins the season on the injured list.

Diamondbacks: The Diamondbacks have a very different look this year than they did last year, with the aforementioned departures of Goldschmidt and Corbin. Ketel Marte’s progress will be something to track in Arizona, and with Zack Greinke on the mound the Opening Day battle against Hyun-Jin Ryu will be a litmus test for the Diamondbacks. Even though they don’t have the depth the Dodgers have, Greinke may be able to get them off to a good start for the year.

Prediction

The Dodgers, simply put, have better bats than the Diamondbacks do. So even without Kershaw on the mound, they’re hard to pick against.

Pick: Dodgers -160
